Although with such a name, Beglichka Mogila is the highest peak of the Vrachan Balkan – 1481m above sea level (β€˜mogila’ means β€˜hill’ in Bulgarian). The entire ridge of the Vrachanski Balkan was a pasture for the herds of the surrounding villages. It is no coincidence that the highest place is called in Turkish by the word β€˜beglik’ – an annual tax on livestock, collected in money or in kind per number of animals.

As its name suggests, the peak is rounded, slightly rising above the surrounding area and quite easy to climb. The vegetation is grassy, with only a few coniferous bushes visible in places. The largest of the three main sections of the Vratchanski Balkan is named after it.
It offers magnificent views. The easiest way to climb to the top is from the nearby Parshevitsa chalet (it takes about an hour). A large part of Stara Planina (Balkan Range Mountain) is visible from the top – from the western edge at Kom Peak to Central Balkan and Botev Peak area. The remaining lower parts of Vrachanski Balkan spread around Beglichka mogila, and the Gorge of river Iskar is to the south. On clear days, Vitosha mountain can also be seen in the distance.
