In 1950, the tourist trail was built, which leads from the Zhitolyub spring through Alpne meadow to the monument of the Septemvrians. It is walled, steps and railings have been made. The monument can be reached except by the trail from below, by car along a narrow asphalt road, which turns left from the Lakatnik - Milanovo road, shortly before the village. The road passes through the Razhishta hamlet and reaches the monument itself.
The monument is built on the highest part of the Lakatnik Rocks. A great panorama of the Gorge opens from there. The monument is massive, faced with local stones - white limestone and red sandstone. Four of the local participants in the September Uprising of 1923 were killed and pushed into the abyss at this place. One of them was Milan Petrov, brother of the leader of the organization in Osikovo, Simeon Petrov Truplev. Milan was a shepherd and was not actually a direct participant in the uprising, but he was captured and killed for edification, while his brother managed to escape to Serbia. In 1945, Simeon returned to the village and became mayor. In 1950, the names of many settlements in Bulgaria were changed. There was a proposal to rename Osikovo to Simeonovo after the name of the local leader of the September Uprising. Simeon Truplev refused, saying that it was not right to give the village the name of a living person. It was then decided that the village would adopt the name Milanovo, in honor of Milan Petrov.
