The festival is among the most recognizable events in the cultural calendar of the municipality of Mezdra. It has been held annually since 2015 in the 'Kaleto' archaeological complex. Admission is free, and the festival lasts for two days. The initiative presents the life, household, and cuisine of the population in our lands from centuries past.

Historical reenactments of the authentic everyday life, crafts, culture and art, cuisine, and military skills of the societies that inhabited Danubian Bulgaria during the 7th-14th centuries create a unique bridge in time and takes the audience on a journey back in time. Music played on ancient instruments, jewelry, and clothing from bygone eras contribute to the magical atmosphere, reminding us of a magnificent and mysterious epoch.
