Since 2006, by tradition, the National Folklore Festival 'Where is the Bulgarian spirit' has been held in the 'Dyado Yotso Gleda' Tourist Complex near the village of Ochindol on 'Blind Man's Sunday' (the sixth Sunday after Easter, so named because it celebrates the healing of a man born blind by Jesus Christ). The festival's goal is for modern Bulgarians to 'see' patriotism and to 'see' Bulgaria, just like the heroes in Vazov's story 'Grandfather Yotso' The event is organized by the 'Iskar Gorge' Association and the Municipality of Mezdra.
подробности:
The festival is not a competition, and participants perform in three categories: singing groups and soloists, dance groups and performers, and instrumental groups and performers.
Around noon on Sunday, a water blessing is performed and consecrated kurban chorba is distributed to those present, after which the program continues with horos (folk dances) and folk music.
During the festival, the traditional 'Dyado Yotso Gleda' Patriotism Award is presented—a statuette that is a miniature replica of the Grandpa Yotso monument. It is awarded by the 'Iskar Gorge' Association to deserving Bulgarians who have glorified Bulgaria both at home and abroad.
